Weight Restrictions on International Courier.

Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd will accept heavy shipments for international courier provided that no single piece weighs no more than 30 kilograms (eg. A shipman weighing 300 kilograms in total should to form at least 10 pieces) in the event where this is not possible kindly contact Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd to make special arrangements. The mode/speed of transport can be deferred to Airfreight, which then can accommodate larger size and heavier items.

Weight Calculations.

All consignments will be weighed and measured by Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd. Should the weights or measurements vary from those provided by the client, the weights and measurements determined by Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd shall apply.

Volumetric Calculation.

All shipments are charged by actual mass volume, whichever is greater. The volume of a consignment is determined by multiplying Length by the Width by the Weight by the Height in Centimeters (cm) and dividing by the appropriate Conversion Rate below:

Same Day Express = 5000cm cm/kg
Dawn Delivery = 5000cm cm/kg
Overnight Courier =5000cm cm/kg
Budget Cargo =5000cm cm/kg
International Documents =5000cm cm/kg
International Non-Documents =5000cm cm/kg
International Airfreight= 5000cm cm/kg
International Roadfreight= 5000cm cm/kg
Domestic Roadfreight=5000cm cm/kg


All non –documents consignments require customs documentation.

Temporary Exports.
Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd must be advised of any goods that are being exported temporarily and which will subsequently be returned to the Republic of South Africa, ie goods been sent out of the country for repairs or demonstration purposes and which will be returning to the Rand Monetary within a specified period. A DA65 will then be processed. Any identifiable markings or serial numbers must be listed on our accompanying Proforma Invoice together with Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd’s Airwaybill.

Dangerous Goods.

It is the responsibility of the shipper of the goods to ensure that the consignment is not dangerous or hazardous for carriage by air. There are various International and Domestic regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods. Kindly ensure that your dispatch staff adheres to these regulations. Should there be any doubt as to whether your shipment will be classified as dangerous or hazardous or is restricted article, please contact your nearest Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd office.

Any goods classified dangerous or hazardous for carriage by air, must be brought to our attention. Warning labels and declarations must accompany the goods and be processed in accordance with the applicable IATA regulations. Our organization will be of great assistance to you, should you require assistance with packaging with IATA registered packaging company; delays prior to dispatch will be incurred. Rates for hazardous or dangerous goods will be quoted for shipment.

Restricted Goods.
The following items are prohibited and will not be accepted as an International Courier Material:
i) Dangerous or hazardous goods
ii) Dry Ice
iii) Flammable or Toxic goods
iv) Firearms (Weaponry and other weaponry parts)
v) Foodstuffs and perishables.
vi) Live Animals or Plants.
Additional restrictions may apply to certain countries. Should you wish to courier any of the above items, feel free to contact our offices so we can arrange the correct mode of transport for your goods. Tariffs will be dependent of the commodity and final destination country.
Certain goods are restricted to carriage due to customs requirements, Airline restrictions or their hazardous nature. It is the responsibility of the shipper to ensure that goods are not restricted, dangerous or hazardous for carriage by Air or by Road. You are welcome to contact your nearest office for advice on any restricted goods. Various types of hazardous or dangerous cargo must be packed in a prescribed manner by an approved packer. The cost of special packing will be for the shippers account and may delay the dispatch of the shipments.
Conditions of Carriage.
All business is undertaken in terms of Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd Standard Terms and Conditions of Carriage or Services.

Credit Terms.
Credit terms are strictly 30 days from the date of statement. Accounts must be paid through a direct Bank Transfer. Cash payments may only be made to our office.
Proof of Delivery.
You are welcome to request a proof of delivery in various methods:
1) Through an email-send us an email specifying your waybill number on the subject line, you will receive an automated reply with the image of the P.O.D
2) Visit our website, and click on “Track and Trace” , type in your waybill number to view the image.
Mode of Transport.
Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd uses a variety of transport modes to effect delivery of shipments to a final destination. The decision as to which mode of transport to utilize will at al times be at the discretion of Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd and will depend on prevailing circumstances.
Value Added Tax.
Account tariffs quoted exclude VAT. Please take note that however that International Export shipments are zero rated and therefore do not attract VAT.
Chain Store/Embassy Deliveries.
A Surcharge will apply for any back door collection delivery to any Chain Store, Embassy or Consulate countrywide.
Fuel Surcharge.
A fuel Surcharge will be levied on all Domestic and International Consignment. This Surcharge is based on the fluctuation of fuel prices. Madibana SA (Pty)Ltd reserves the right to increase such Surcharge without prior notice.

Currency Fluctuation Surcharge.
This is applicable on international zones 3-9, Madibana SA (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to charge a fluctuation surcharge based on the prevailing rate of exchange i.e Rand versus major currency.
